The Electricity Model Base for Africa (TEMBA)
TEMBA is the world's first model of African electricity supply that represents each continental African country's electricity supply system and transmission links between them. An initial version was first developed to inform the World Energy Outlook of 2014 and was sponsored by SIDA. The model is open source and written in OSeMOSYS.
TEMBA is constantly being updated and the current version is TEMBA_2807. Due to large size of the model, and consequently long solve times, users are advised to employ a powerful solver (e.g. CPLEX or Gurobi)
